Analytics glossary
Short definitions. Each page links the longer guide, docs, or comparison — this hub is not a second blog.
- Cookieless analytics
Cookieless analytics measures traffic and conversions without setting browser cookies. EventDash uses an 11 KB script, filters PII, and still records funnels.
- Conversion funnel
A conversion funnel is the ordered steps from landing to a goal (signup, purchase). EventDash shows drop-off per step from cookieless events.
- Product analytics
Product analytics measures in-product behavior: events, funnels, and goals — not only pageviews. EventDash is product analytics with a cookieless 11 KB tracker.
- HTML event tracking
HTML event tracking marks conversions with data attributes on buttons and links — no tag manager required. EventDash uses data-ed-goal.
- Privacy-first analytics
Privacy-first analytics is cookieless by design, filters PII, and still answers product questions. It is not only “no cookies.”
- Google Analytics alternative
A Google Analytics alternative is a tracker that answers measurement questions without GA4. EventDash is one for product funnels — not for ads attribution.
- MCP analytics
MCP analytics means querying product metrics from an editor or agent over the Model Context Protocol. EventDash exposes a read-only remote MCP server.
- Core Web Vitals analytics
Core Web Vitals analytics records LCP, INP, and CLS next to the pages and funnels they affect. EventDash includes CWV on paid plans alongside errors.
- Share-link analytics
Share-link analytics is a read-only URL for a dashboard so a client or teammate can see rollups without an account. EventDash share links never expose raw events.
- Analytics without Google Tag Manager
You do not need Google Tag Manager to track a signup button. EventDash marks conversions with data-ed-goal on the HTML element.
